The Cleveland Cavs (8-0) and Oklahoma City Thunder (7-0) look to keep their undefeated records alive. The Cavs square off against the New Orleans Pelicans, and the Thunder head to Colorado to face the Denver Nuggets. There are some other great matchups including the New York Knicks at the Atlanta Hawks, and the Golden State Warriors at the Boston Celtics.
We found some of the best NBA prop bets today involving Nikola Jokic, Steph Curry, Mikal Bridges, Evan Mobley, Alperen Sengun, Gradey Dick, and Domantas Sabonis.
New York Knicks (3-3) at Atlanta Hawks (3-5)
- Tip-off: 7:40pm ET
- Point Spread: Knicks -7
- Total: 225.5 o/u
- Pick: Knicks -7
The Knicks head to Atlanta to play the worst betting team in the NBA that also happens to have one of the worst defenses in the league. The Hawks are 1-7 ATS and the over is 7-1 in their games.
Mikal Bridges Prop Bet
The pick for today is over 20.5 points + rebounds. Bridges averages 17.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. We like his over combo as one of our best NBA prop bets today.
The Hawks have third-worst defense that allows 121.9 ppg. Their perimeter defense is awful, and they allow opponents to shoot 39.8% from 3-point range, which is the worst in the NBA. Meanwhile, the Knicks have the best shooting percentage from beyond the arc at 41.4%.
Golden State Warriors (6-1) at Boston Celtics (7-1)
- Tip-off: 7:40pm
- Point Spread: Celtics -7.5
- Total: 229.5 o/u
- Pick: Warriors +7.5
Steph Curry Prop Bet
The pick for today is over 24.5 points.
The Warriors are one of the surprise teams. Very few experts thought they’d win seven out of their first eight games, especially after Steph Curry missed a couple of games with an ankle injury. Now that Curry is back, they roll into Boson to battle the Celtics with a 6-1 ATS record.
The Warriors have the second-best defense in the NBA that allows 104.3 ppg, but more importantly, their 3-point defense is the best in the NBA by allowing opponents to shoot only 28.3% from downtown.
The Celtics live and die by the 3-pointer. When they knock those down, it’s usually a big blow out. If the Celtics go cold, they’re vulnerable.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are ranked #4 in shooting treys with a 39.1% success rate. If their defense shows up, they have enough fire power to cover +7.5.
San Antonio Spurs (3-4) at Houston Rockets (4-3)
- Tip-off: 8:10pm ET
- Point Spread: Rockets -6.5
- Total: 215.5 o/u
- Pick: Under 213.5
We like the under in this battle of two Texas teams because both teams play great defense and can’t hit treys. The under is 5-2 for the Rockets this season.
The Spurs have the third best defense allowing 105.9 ppg, and the Rockets have the fifth best at 107.7 ppg. Meanwhile, the Spurs and Rockets are two of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the NBA. The Spurs are the third worst (31.1%) and the Rockets are the fifth worst (32.2%).
Alperen Sengun Prop Bet
Yes for a double-double. Sengun has six double-doubles in seven games, including four in a row.
Keep an eye on center Alperen Sengun, who averages 16.4 points and 12.3 rebounds for the Rockets. He’s also looking to avenge a terrible performance earlier in the season when the Spurs held him to a low season of 6 points and 5 rebounds.
LA Lakers (4-3) at Memphis Grizzlies (4-4)
- Tip-off: 8:10pm
- Point Spread: Grizzlies -1
- Total: 229.5 o/u
- Pick: Under 229.5
Ja Morant Prop Bet
Over 37.5 combined points + rebounds + assists.
The Grizzlies had five different players lead them in scoring through the first eight games, including rookie Zach Edey. Edey had his best game of his short career with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks against the Nets. The Grizzlies are anchored by healthy Ja Morant, who averages 20.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
The Lakers are 3-0 in L.A., but only 1-3 during this five-game road trip. They suffered an ugly loss to the Detroit Pistons by 12 points on Monday. To complicate matters, Anthony Davis aggravated a lingering foot injury. He indicated he would play, but expect him to be a little sluggish. Consider taking a flier on Davis to go under 41.5 points and rebounds.
Cleveland Cavs (8-0) at New Orleans Pelicans (3-5)
- Tip-off: 8:10pm ET
- Point Spread: Cavs -7.5
- Total: 224 o/u
- Pick: Cavs -7.5
The Cavs won back-to-back games against the Milwaukee Bucks by three total points to remain undefeated. The Cavs have been one of the most profitable betting teams with a 7-1 ATS record. They head down to New Orleans to battle the Pelicans, who are only 2-6 ATS.
Evan Mobley Prop Bet
Over 23.5 points + rebounds. Mobley averages 17.6 points and 8.1 assists per game for the Cavs, and he exceeded 24 combined points and rebounds five times this season.
The Pelicans average 107.5 ppg, which is fifth lowest in the league. They’ve been unlucky with injuries to Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, and Herb Jones. On Monday, Zion Williamson sat out with a hamstring injury.
The Cavs have the second most lethal offense in the NBA that averages 122.3 ppg. They’re also ranked #2 3-point shooting at 41.3%. This should be an easy victory especially if Zion misses a second game in a row.
OKC Thunder (7-0) at Denver Nuggets (4-3)
- Tip-off: 9:10pm ET
- Point Spread: Thunder -6
- Total: 223 o/u
- Pick: Thunder -6
The Thunder are also undefeated as the best team from the west thanks to a stifling defense that allows 95.9 ppg. They’re the only team that held opponents to under 100, and almost 8.5 points better than the second-ranked defense.
The Thunder creates havoc on the perimeter with the second-best 3-point defense that allows opponents to shoot only 28.6% from deep.
The Thunder are 6-1 ATS and the under is 5-2. The Nuggets are 2-5 ATS, and the over is 5-2 ATS because of their shoddy defense.
Nikola Jokic Prop Bet
Yes to a triple-double.
Aside from Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets’ offense has been inconsistent, and their bench is super thin. Jamal Murray was struggling before he sustained a concussion. Aaron Gordon strained his calf on Monday and will miss several weeks.
Jokic leads NBA in PER rating, and he’s in the Top 5 in the major categories with 29.6 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game. He tallied three triple-double so far, and narrowly missed two more. With Gordon out and Murray slumping, Jokic will have to put up huge numbers to keep them competitive.
Toronto Raptors (2-6) at Sacramento Kings (4-3)
- Tip-off: 10:10pm ET
- Point Spread: Kings -11
- Total: 238 o/u
- Pick: Raptors +11
Gradey Dick Prop Bet
Over 20.5 points. Dick (21.6 ppg) is making a strong case for Most Improved Player, and he’s averaging 13 more points than his rookie season last year.
Domantas Sabonis Prop Bet
Over 31.5 points + rebounds. Sabonis tallied the only triple-double of the season in the overtime loss against the Raptors with 17, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Even though the Raptors only won two games, they’re 7-1 ATS and the over is 7-1. During their previous five games, three games were decided by less than three points including two in overtime. Their last victory occurred in Canada with a 131-128 overtime thriller against the Kings.
The Kings are back on their home turf and looking to enact revenge on the Raptors. Domantas Sabonis leads the NBA in rebounding. He averages 20.7 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists for the Kings.
