It’s nearly a full slate of games on Wednesday, including a huge game between the undefeated Cleveland Cavs and the Los Angeles Lakers, the New York Knicks visiting the Miami Heat, and the San Antonio Spurs at the Oklahoma City Thunder! We have some of the best NBA prop bets from the top NBA betting sites if you want a punt on any of these games:
Los Angeles Lakers (3-1) at Cleveland Cavs (4-0)
- Tip-off: 7:10pm ET
- Point Spead: Cavs -4
- Total: 225 o/u
- Pick: Cavs -4
- Prop Bet: Evan Mobley over 23.5 points + rebounds
The Cavs are tied with the Celtics for the best record in the NBA at 4-0. The Cavs are also 4-0 ATS and -4 favorites against the visiting Lakers. It’s sort of a homecoming for LeBron James, so there’s always mixed emotions from fans whenever he returns to Cleveland.
The Cavs and Lakers are two of the best 3-point shooting teams early in the season. The Cavs (41%) are ranked #2, and Lakers (38.2%) are ranked #4. The Cavs also have the best field-goal percentage in the NBA at 52.8% The Cavs have been covering with hot shooting and great defense. They hold opponents to 42% from the floor, which is ranked #6.
The Cavs have one of the best scoring backcourts in the east with Donovan ‘Spida’ Mitchell (23.8 ppg) and Darius Garland (19.3 ppg). Their frontline is anchored by Evan Mobley (17.8 ppg, 9.0 rebounds) and Jarrett Allen (17.3 ppg, 9.5 rebounds). We love Mobley to exceed 23.5 points plus rebounds as one of our best NBA prop bets.
The Lakers began the season 3-0 under rookie head coach JJ Redick, before they lost their first game of the season against the Phoenix Suns on Monday. Anthony Davis leads the NBA in scoring with 32.8 ppg, and he’s seventh in rebounds with 12.0 per game. He’s also second in the league with 12.8 free-throw attempts per game. LeBron is nearly 40 and he’s averaging 20 points, 7.5 assists, and 7.0 rebounds a game.
Detroit Pistons (0-4) at Philadelphia 76ers (1-2)
- Tip-off: 7:10pm ET
- Point Spead: 76ers -3.5
- Total: 217.5
- Pick: 76ers -3.5
- Prop Bet: Jaden Ivey over 17.5 points
The Pistons picked up where they left off last season as the worst team in the NBA. They’re one of two teams who have yet to win a game. The Pistons (106.5 ppg) are one of the five lowest scoring teams in the NBA, yet they’re ranked seventh in 3-point attempts.
Cade Cunningham leads the Pistons with 26.5 ppg and 7.5 assists. Jaden Ivey averages a career-best 20.8 ppg while knocking down 43% of his 3-point attempts. Aside from their backcourt tandem, the rest of the Pistons have been struggling to make buckets. We like Ivey to score more than 17.5 points as one of our best prop bets.
Even though Joel Embiid and Paul George will miss their fourth-straight game, the 76ers are still a -4 favorite. Tyrese Maxey has been sensational this season. He’s the NBA’s fourth-highest scorer with 31.3 ppg.
Atlanta Hawks (2-2) at Washington Wizards (1-2)
- Tip-off: 7:10pm ET
- Point Spead: Hawks -3.5
- Total: 233 o/u
- Pick: Over 233
These are two of the worst defenses in the NBA, which is why we love the points over at 233. The Hawks are 4-0 hitting overs, and the Wizards are 2-1.
The Wizards allow the most points (125.3) in the league, and the Hawks have the third-worst defense (121.3 ppg). The Hawks have been looking to push the ball with a frenetic pace, and they’re ranked #7 in scoring (117 ppg). The Hawks allow opponents to connect on 44.5% of their treys, which is ranked dead last 3-point shooting defense.
The Wizards have a young, yet inexperienced squad that has been getting burned on defense, especially on the perimeter. They allow opponents to shoot 49.4% from the floor, which is ranked #30. Opponents are shooting 41.3% from downtown, which is ranked #28 or third worst in the league.
New York Knicks (1-2) at Miami Heat (2-1)
- Tip-off: 7:40pm ET
- Point Spead: Knicks -2
- Total: 215 o/u
- Pick: Under 215
- Prop Bet: Mikal Bridges over 19.5 points + rebounds
The Heat have the third-best defense in the NBA allowing only 106.7 ppg, but they also have the second-worst offense that averages 105.7 ppg. We anticipate a low-scoring game with both teams looking to grind out each possession. The Heat held two opponents to under 97 points.
Terry Rozier is the leading scorer for the Heat with 19.3 ppg which is a bit surprising. Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo are all off to a slow start on the offensive end. Adebayo averages only 11 ppg this season while shooting a career-low 38.7%. He’s close to a 55% career shooter and averaged over 19.6 ppg over the last three seasons.
The Knicks are ranked #7 in 3-point shooting percentage with 37.6%, but dead last in 3-point attempts. They’re averaging 28 3-point shots per game and down from 36 treys per game last season.
The Knicks are second overall in shooting at 50.4%. They just need to shoot more, especially from 3-point land. Karl-Anthony Towns has been too timid and deferring to his teammates too much. KAT is only averaging 15.3 ppg, and the Knicks need him to jack up more 3-pointers.
Jalen Brunson and his former teammates from Villanova, Miles Bridges and Josh Hart, are known as the “Nova Knicks.” The trio leads the team in scoring with Brunson at 23.0 ppg, Bridges at 18.7 ppg, and Hart with 16.0 ppg. We like Bridges to go over 19.5 combined points and rebounds as one of our best NBA prop bets available on US betting apps for Wednesday night.
Orlando Magic (3-1) at Chicago Bulls (2-2)
- Tip-off: 8:10pm ET
- Point Spead: Magic -4.5
- Total: 226.5 o/u
- Pick: Over 226.5
- Prop Bet: Josh Giddey over 12.5 points
This Magic-Bulls game should be a shootout. The Magic are 4-0 hitting the over this season, and the Bulls are 3-1 in overs.
The Bulls allow 120.5 ppg, which is the fifth-worst defense in the NBA. They’re good at defending the 3-pointer, and ranked #6 at 30.6%, but that’s about it. They give up a lot of easy buckets, especially in transition.
Zach LaVine leads the Bulls with 26 ppg. The Bulls added point guard Josh Giddey through an offseason trade, and Giddey averages 14.3 points, 7.8 points, and 6.0 assists per game.
Paolo Banchero, the former #1 pick in the draft from the Magic, is coming off the first 50-point game of his career. He had torrid first half against the Indiana Pacer with 37 points. He also narrowly missed a triple double with 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Banchero leads the Magic with 28.5 ppg, 9.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists.
San Antonio Spurs (1-2) at Oklahoma City Thunder (3-0)
- Tip-off: 8:40pm ET
- Point Spead: Thunder -13
- Total: 224.5 o/u
- Pick: Under 224.5
- Prop Bet: Chet Holmgren over 28.5 points + rebounds
The Thunder are one of three unbeaten teams, but they’re the only undefeated team in the Western Conference. The Thunder are 3-0 ATS and have the second-best scoring margin at 19.4.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, last season’s MVP runner-up, averages 28.7 ppg. Chet Holmgren has made a huge leap in his second season with 23.7 ppg, 13.0 rebounds, and 4.0 blocked shots per game. He leads the NBA in blocks and he’s tied for second in rebounding. We love Holmgren to go over 28.5 combined points and rebounds as one of our best NBA prop bets.
The Thunder have the best defense in the NBA that limits opponents to 95.3 ppg and a league-best 36.7% opposing field-goal percentage. They hold opponents to 26.2% from 3-point range, which is ranked #2.
The Spurs look better than last season, but they’re still a work in progress. They’re the fourth-lowest scoring team averaging 106.3 ppg. Victor Wembanyama leads the Spurs with 20.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, but the rest of the team has been slacking. When Jeremey Sochan (19 ppg) is your second-best scorer, it’s a tough spot. With that said, we also like Sochan to score more than 14.5 points as a prop bet.
