It will be an emotional night in Columbus as the Blue Jackets will play their first home game where they will honor the life of former player Johnny Gaudreau, who tragically passed away in August.
The Blue Jackets started their 2024-25 campaign with two strong road performances, a 3-2 loss in the season opener against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, Oct. 10, and a 6-4 triumph against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Kent Johnson and Zach Werenski lead the team with two goals apiece under new head coach Dean Evason.
The Panthers reached the .500 mark on Monday, Oct. 14 with their second win against the Boston Bruins, 4-3. Sam Reinhart and Anton Lundell each scored two goals, and goalie Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 25 saves in the win.
This will be an emotional home opener for Columbus, where they will thrive off the crowd and the energy in Nationwide Arena. The St. Louis Blues return home for their home opener against fellow Central Division rival the Minnesota Wild to start a four-game homestand. The Blues took two of their first three games out West but lost a 4-3 decision to the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday, Oct. 11.

Minnesota is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss at the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday, Oct. 13. Jake Middleton scored the Wild’s lone goal, and Filip Gustavsson posted 33 saves in the loss.

The Nashville Predators will have their second shot at home to win their first game of the season when they host the Seattle Kraken to start a four-game homestand.
Nashville is coming off a 3-0 road loss at the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Oct. 12 as Predators forward Filip Forsberg played in his 700th career game.
Seattle is coming off a 2-0 road loss to the Dallas Stars on Sunday, Oct. 13, and will conclude a three-game road trip against Central Division foes on Tuesday. Jordan Eberle leads the team in goals scored with two.

The Philadelphia Flyers continue their four-game Western swing at the slumping Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Edmonton, one of the preseason favorites to win the Stanley Cup, is surprisingly winless on the season after a 4-1 home loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Connor McDavid is in search of his first goal of the season, and the Oilers have been outscored 15-3 in their first three home games.
The Flyers are coming off a 6-3 road loss to Calgary on Saturday, Oct. 12, as Travis Konecny scored two goals, and goalie Ivan Fedotov stopped 27 shots in his first start of the season. Philadelphia is 2-for-8 on the power play in their first two games of the season.
