A small slate of six contests is set for the second to last day in October. We will focus on three of those contests, all with different start times. Here are our best picks from NHL betting sites in America.
Winnipeg Jets (8-1-0) at Detroit Red Wings (4-4-1)
Time | Money Line/Spread | Total | Pick |
---|---|---|---|
7:38 p.m. ET | Winnipeg (-135/-1.5 (+180), Detroit (+115/+1.5 (-225)) | 6 (over -110/under -110) | WIN (money line, puck line) |
Sitting atop the Central Division, the Winnipeg Jets will visit the Detroit Red Wings after their first loss of the season, a 6-4 home setback at the hands of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Kyle Connor posted two goals with two assists (eight goals, six assists on season) to extend his season-opening point streak to nine games and Josh Morrissey dished out three assists in defeat.
Winnipeg is 4-0-0 on the road and is a solid 6-1 when they score three goals or more.
After a three-game win streak, Detroit has dropped two straight games including a 3-2 home overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Andrew Copp had one goal with an assist and Patrick Kane posted two assists in the loss. Detroit is 2-2-1 at home and overall have been outscored 28-25 in nine games thus far this season.
The Jets will bounce back after their first loss of the season and get back on track.
Player Props (Anytime Goal Scorer): Connor (WIN) (+125); Mark Scheifele (WIN) (+165); Kane (DET) (+240).
Tampa Bay Lightning (6-3-0) at Colorado Avalanche (5-5-0)
Time | Money Line/Spread | Total | Pick |
---|---|---|---|
9:08 p.m. ET | Colorado (-120/-1.5 (+200), Tampa Bay (+100/+1.5 (-250)) | 6.5 (over -120/under +100) | TAM (money line) |
The Colorado Avalanche conclude a three-game homestand tonight as they host the Tampa Bay Lightning. Colorado is coming off an unimpressive 5-2 home loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday, snapping a five-game win streak.
Nathan MacKinnon scored one goal and Cale Makar dished out one assist for Colorado as they both extended their personal point streaks to 10 games apiece. The Avalanche are just a mere 2-4-0 at home.
Tampa Bay went 2-1 on their recent three-game home stand, highlighted by a 3-2 overtime win over the Nashville Predators. Nick Paul scored the game-winner and Jake Guentzel dished out two assists for Tampa Bay, who have won three of their last four games.
You would think Colorado would have a better home record than they have and would give them the edge here, but Tampa Bay is playing well, and I think the little run that they are on continues.
Player Props (Anytime Goal Scorer): MacKinnon (COL) (+110); Casey Mittelstadt (COL) (+260); Guentzel (TAM) (+160).
Vegas Golden Knights (7-2-1) at Los Angeles Kings (5-2-2*)
Time | Money Line/Spread | Total | Pick |
---|---|---|---|
10:08 p.m. ET | Vegas (-115/+1.5 (-250), Los Angeles (-105/-1.5 (+200)) | 6 (over -120/under +100) | VEG (money line, puck line) |
The Los Angeles Kings return home after a Tuesday night matchup at the San Jose Sharks to host the Vegas Golden Knights.
Vegas is coming off an impressive 5-0 home win against the Calgary Flames on Monday as Keegan Kolesar tallied two goals with an assist and Nicolas Roy posted one goal with two assists for their fourth straight victory, extending their second-longest home win streak ever to seven games.
The Golden Knights are averaging 4.7 goals per game to lead the league.
Entering Tuesday’s contest with the Sharks, the Kings have won two straight home games including a 3-2 triumph versus Utah Hockey Club on Saturday, Oct. 26. Joel Edmundson scored two goals in the win to hand Utah their third straight loss.
Coming off the back-to-back, I have to roll the dice with Vegas as the road favorites in this spot.
Player Props (Anytime Goal Scorer): Jack Eichel (VEG) (+165); William Karlsson (VEG) (+330); Alex Laferriere (LA) (+310).
