Virginia sports bettors have another option for wagering now that SuperBook is live in the Commonwealth.
SuperBook Sports has expanded its reach across the U.S. by launching in Virginia sports betting on Thursday. The company’s mobile phone app and website are now live in the Old Dominion. Virginia is the ninth state where SuperBook has been operating since entering mobile sports betting in Colorado in 2020. The company began operating in 1986 in Las Vegas.
Company officials feel they have a great product with a strong history.

With the addition of Virginia, that brings SuperBook Sports’ reach to nine states: Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, and now Virginia.
Going live in Virginia follows the company’s launch in the neighboring state of Maryland in April. SuperBook first opened a sports lounge at Camden Yards in April, home of Major League Baseball team Baltimore Orioles. Soon after the SuperBook sportsbook mobile app was launched in Maryland.

The Virginia Lottery approved a temporary permit for SuperBook on Oct. 6 to offer sports betting service in the state. SuperBook is operating in Virginia under a partnership with PlayLive Virginia, LLC (“The Cordish Companies”).
Virginia Sports Betting Operators
With the addition of SuperBook, Virginia currently has 15 mobile sportsbooks available in the state and three retail locations. The Virginia sports betting landscape consists of FanDuel (Mobile), DraftKings (Mobile), BetMGM (Mobile), BetRivers (Mobile with retail location at Rivers Casino Portsmouth), Caesars Sportsbook (Mobile with retail location at Caesars Virginia’s Danville Casino), Unibet (Mobile), Barstool Sportsbook (Mobile), PointsBet, A Fanatics Experience (Mobile), Hard Rock Bet (Mobile & Retail location at Hard Rock’s Bristol Casino), SI Sportsbook (Mobile), Betway (Mobile), Bet365 (Mobile), Betfred Sportsbook (Mobile), Betr Sportsbook (Mobile) and now SuperBook (Mobile).
In June, sports betting app Bally Bet announced they were going offline for a few months to redesign their service. The sports betting app went live in Virginia on Nov. 25, 2021.
“Over the next few months, we will be working to elevate your betting experience and as of June 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to access Bally’s Bet,” the company said in an email to customers.
Managed by Bally’s Corp., the company’s online sports betting service is managed by Bally’s Interactive, a portfolio of top disruptor brands in sports betting, iGaming, free-to-play gaming, and poker. Bally’s has not announced a relaunch date for the app.
Legal sports betting in Virginia was launched in January 2021. Since going live, sports betting operators in the state have handled over $11 billion in wagers from customers.
