When sports betting first launched in the United States users signed up under a separate account for each state where betting was legal. Slowly sports betting operators are now consolidating player accounts into one app that serves multiple states.

WynnBET is the latest sports wagering operator to make the move to one app for several states. The company announced on Thursday they have moved their sports betting services and users will need to download a new app.

“As of today, the WynnBET app has moved and requires a new download,” the company said in an email to users. “All your account information has been transferred. All funds and open bets will be available in this app.”

WynnBET said on Friday that users in six states can use the new app.

“The new multi-state platform replaces existing state-specific apps, bringing players several improved features including faster deposits and withdrawals, one app and login across all states, a traveling wallet, more sports markets, and more casino games,” WynnBET said in a company press release.

Wynn Sports Interactive President Ian Williams said the consolidation will continue the company’s commitment to offering players a “five-star experience in each of the states.”

“We would like to thank state regulators for their timely review of our new platform as well as the many WynnBET team members and partners involved in this project for their diligent work in finalizing this significant task in a short amount of time,” Williams said in a statement.

Players with existing accounts in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Virginia will be prompted to download the new app and log in using their existing login information.

WynnBET previously launched in Massachusetts and West Virginia on the new platform and players in those states can seamlessly continue their wagering experience. Additional states will be added to the new multi-state WynnBET app soon.

“Information regarding when the new app will be available to patrons in New Jersey and New York – scheduled to be available in the coming weeks – as well as Michigan will be shared at later dates,” the company said.

BetMGM Account Consolidation

In July, BetMGM announced they have consolidated player accounts in seven jurisdictions to make it easier for users to wager where the app is available.

“It’s now easier than ever to wager with BetMGM in Louisiana, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Wyoming,” the company said in an email to users.

BetMGM is also available in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

According to the BetMGM website, “Accounts are being consolidated into a single account, which means simpler and more convenient wagering everywhere you use BetMGM. With your single account, you’ll now have one set of login credentials and account settings, along with a single cash balance you can access in all states where BetMGM is available.”
