?? Betting on the 76ers
Online betting has become very common in Pennsylvania since the state legalized sportsbooks. Now it’s very easy to sign up on betting sites and wager on the 76ers.
Betting on the Sixers is also very easy, and each of the PA sportsbooks we recommend offers the basic bet types for your bet slip. You can wager on the winner of the game (moneyline), expected point difference (point spread), and total number of points in a game (over/under) or the season’s win total.
You can also pool wagers into one bet to make a parlay, or bet on individuals or events in a game, such as how many 3-pointers Joel Embiid will score, Maxey’s over/under points per game, or which team leads after the first quarter. You can also bet on future events, such as the Championship winner or Eastern Conference winner.
NBA betting sites offer tons of information you can look through before making wagers, and you can find all kinds of betting options on the sites and app. Don’t forget to utilize any PA promotions you might find, such as odds boosts and parlay insurance.
Let’s take a look at some example odds from a 76ers game:
Bet Type | Odds |
---|---|
Point Spread | Pelicans -8 -112 76ers +8 -108 |
Over/Under | Over 221.5 -108 Under 221.5 -112 |
Moneyline | Pelicans -310 76ers +250 |
For point spread and totals, it’s common to see only small differences in the odds; sportsbooks want to attract bets on both sides so they adjust the odds only a little. This also impacts the lines you see here.
In addition, the 76ers are the underdogs against the Pelicans as indicated by the moneyline odds. Betting $10 on the 76ers would win you $25, so a decent profit, but they are not as likely to win as the Pelicans.
Note that many online sportsbooks provide alternative lines for all of the bet options above. So if you’re not loving the spread, you can always choose another option from the list!
?? Betting Tips
- Stay Disciplined: Develop a strategy and stick to it. Avoid making impulsive decisions based on emotions. A disciplined approach is crucial for long-term success. This includes bankroll management; don’t spend money you don’t have specifically set aside for sports betting. In addition, resist the urge to chase losses by increasing the size of your bets after a losing streak. This can lead to further monetary losses and poor decision-making.
- Do Your Research: Stay updated on team and player statistics, injuries, and performance trends. Analyzing team dynamics, recent form, and head-to-head matchups can provide valuable insights on the 76ers. Have they lost several games in a row? Do they have a lot of back-to-back games this month? Are they better at home? These should all factor into your decisions. In addition, a new coach could have an entirely different coaching style which could significantly affect the team’s performance. Naturally, this all applies to other teams as well, so check out 76ers opponents before their games.
- Look for Value Bets: Identify odds that you believe underestimate or overestimate the 76ers; if the risk-reward ratio is favorable, you could get some excellent value. Don’t forget to compare odds across different sportsbooks as they might have slightly different odds for the 76ers games. If you want to, bet both sides on different sportsbooks with the bonus money; you will win one of the bets if you choose wisely.

?? Playoff History
The 76ers latest playoff appearance was in 2024, when they lost in the first round of the Playoffs to New York Knicks. They last missed the playoffs in 2017, meaning they’ve had a great run for years but it hasn’t culminated in a championship yet.
Combining the 76ers playoff history with the franchise’s earlier edition (the Syracuse Nationals), the team has advanced into playoffs 54 times and have won 3 championships (the latest is from 1983).
The franchise has made the NBA Finals nine times, most recently in 2001. Safe to say it’s been a while since the 76ers have been close to winning it all. They made it to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals three times in a row, so hopefully they will soon break the cycle and make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
?? 2023-24 Season
This season was the 75th in the franchise history. In the offseason, coach Doc Rivers was fired after three seasons and Nick Nurse took over. The Sixers had a strong start to the season, going 29–13. However, things took an unfortunate turn when star player Joel Embiid got injured in late January.
The 76ers struggled in Embiid’s absence and nearly dropped out of the playoffs. Embiid returned prior to the end of the regular season and led his team to eight wins to clinch a Play-In spot. The 76ers beat the Miami Heat in the tournament to advance into the playoffs.
In a surprising twist, Philadelphia was the favorite in their series against the New York Knicks. Sadly, the 76ers fell to the Knicks 2-4 in the series and once again missed out on the opportunity to play in the NBA Finals.
